Hello Friends and Partners,
Well, we are back in Australia after 3 months of ministry in Europe. What a wonderful time we had, ministering multiple times and often multiple cities each week. Whilst we were away, I felt the Lord talk to me about the importance of a Spirit led life. The Bible identifies us as a 3 part being and every part has a voice.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 ‘Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.’
We are a living spirit that has a soul comprised of our mind, will and emotions, and we live in a body. I can remember as a young Christian being told that if I fasted, then God would speak to me and show me visions but when I fasted a few meals and closed my eyes, the only vision I could see was that of a roast chicken! It’s obvious to me that my body was the loudest voice in my life. The world tells us that no matter what we feel or want, that if we yield to those feelings then we will be happy but the Bible makes it clear that this does not bring happiness.
Romans 8:13 ‘For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.’
This does not mean that God will kill you when you are led by your flesh (natural desires) or that you will instantly die, but there is no life or real joy in just fulfilling the lusts of our flesh. The Bible promises us that God wants us to have a life of incredible joy.
Isaiah 55:2
‘ Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.’
The Bible also says
Romans 8:14 ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.’
The word “sons” in this passage of scripture gives the connotation of the DNA of the Father. This means that when we allow our lives to be led of our spirit by the Holy Spirit, then we express the DNA of God in our lives. I believe worship is one of the most powerful ways to make our spirit the leading factor and voice in our lives. Both Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16 both talk about singing Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs and to be thankful to the Lord. In both scriptures the next thing said is for wives to submit to their husbands and for Husbands to love their wives as Jesus loved the church. I love my wife but I have along way to go to love her as Jesus loved the church. When I sing Psalms and Hymns (this is just written songs) followed by spiritual songs (songs that come spontaneously out of my heart and singing in tongues) then my spirit is leading me and the DNA of God is released into my life (the fruit of the Spirit).
As I said earlier, Cristie and I had an amazing time ministering for 3 months in Europe and have heard back many testimonies of how God used our ministry to bless churches, ministers and leadership teams. We would also like to honour Dr Jerry Savelle who recently graduated to heaven. We have been partners with his ministry for a long time. Brother Jerry was a huge blessing to to both of us through his teaching, Cristie came to the Lord in one of his churches and that is where we met. We will miss him, please remember his family and staff in your prayers. May we all leave such an incredible heritage of Faith.
