Find Yourself in Church

Hello Friends and Partners,

I thank God for the revelation of grace sweeping the globe today. People all over the world are discovering the loving heart of the Father and who they are in Christ. In my personal journey I have oscillated between my confidence being completely in Jesus finished work, to trying to earn Gods favour and back again. I have known the emptiness of working to get Gods favour and I have known the joy of accepting Gods unmerited love.

I think that it is sad that, in many people’s journey of understanding Gods unmerited love and escaping a life of endlessly working to get Gods approval, that many have thrown away many Godly principles that are meant to bring blessing into our lives. Joseph knew to run from Potiphar’s wife before the law said, “Thou shall not commit adultery”. Abraham tithed before the law commanded him to. These are both Godly principles that God has put on this earth to bless our lives and a lot of people sadly think that a revelation of grace means that we can do whatever we want and God will bless us anyway.

My own children could make decisions that won’t affect my love for them, but also won’t bring blessing and joy into their lives. I don’t try to breathe underwater because I know that I wasn’t created to and I know that there are many Godly principles that are not there to earn Gods love but to bring blessing into our lives. People think that eternal life is when we die but everybody will live for ever. It’s just the address that you need to determine by accepting Jesus as your personal Saviour. God wants us to have an abundant, joyful blessed life here on earth and he has placed many Godly principles that will bring blessing into our lives.

Hebrews 10:19-22 ‘Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.’

This was one of the most mind blowing things that could have been written to Jewish people that were raised that only the high priest could enter the presence of God once a year and not boldly. This is one of the most amazing scripture on Gods grace to the new covenant church yet the very next thing that is written is..

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.’

God wants our lives blessed and the book of Hebrews directly connects a revelation of God’s amazing grace with a directive to go to church. You don’t have to go to church to be loved by God or go to heaven, and I know there are places on earth where there isn’t a church, but in our nations that are free to worship God, I believe with all of my heart that our lives will be at their fullest when we are in church. I believe that we grow in our revelation of God as we connect with other believers and serve with our various and diverse giftings in church. You don’t stop eating if you’ve had a bad meal at a restaurant.

There is a wonderful community of believers out there and many good churches in which you can grow and thrive. Find yourself, your blessed and thriving self, in church today.
